Women's Golf Signs Willborg to Letter of Intent

The Minnesota women's golf program announced today the signing of Brittany Willborg to a National Letter of Intent. Willborg will be eligible to play for the Golden Gophers for the 2003-04 season.
Willborg attends Waconia High School and has lettered in golf every year since the seventh grade. She is a two-time USGA Girls Junior Amateur qualifier and a three-time AJGA top-10 finisher. Willborg has qualified for the state tournament every year since the eighth grade and placed fifth at the 2001 Class A state tournament. In addition, Willborg was a member of the MGA Minnesota/Manitoba Cup team in 2002. Currently, she has a 3.95 GPA and plans to enroll in the Carlson School of Management.
"Brittany is one of the best young players in the state of Minnesota and we are very excited to keep her home," said head coach Katie Weiss. "Her attitude and work ethic will be a great addition to our team."
