MinnWith a two wins over Brown and Harvard last weekend, and a Minnesota- Duluth loss, the University of Minnesota women's hockey team gained the No. 1 ranking in the U.S. College Hockey Online poll. Minnesota holds an 11-0-1 overall record, the only team that has an unbeaten record in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. Minnesota took the top spot after the Crimson defeated the UMD Bulldogs, but fell to the Gophers the following day, 4-3. Minnesota gained all but one vote for the top spot, with the other going to Harvard.

The Gophers were ranked as the No. 1 team in the nation last year for 10 consecutive weeks, from Jan. 14 to March 18, up until the NCAA Frozen Four, where the team finished third.

There are three Western Collegiate Hockey Association teams represented in the polls; Minnesota is first, Minnesota-Duluth in third and Wisconsin in seventh.

Minnesota travels to St. Lawrence this weekend, facing its fourth ranked opponent in the month of November. The Gophers return home, Nov. 30 when UMD comes to town.
