Minnesota Women Swimmers in Third Place at Minnesota Invitational

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the team of Dana Baum, Sarah Perrott, Sara Vine, and Katy Coombe placed fifth in a time of 1:36.04. The time is a new season best.
Dan a Baum placed fifth in the 500-yard freestyle in a team and season best time of 4:56.43. Kris tin Rygg placed 11th in a season best time of 4:58.38.
Jul een Rodakowski placed 11th in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:06.46. The time is a team and season best. Following Rodakowski were Abb y Ruess and Meg an Moore who took 12th and 13th respectively.
Kat y Coombe took 12th in the 50-yard freestyle. Her time of 24.42 is a season best and good for second fastest on the team.
In the 1 meter diving event, two Gophers placed. Kim Bahmer placed seventh , while Hol ly Hanneman placed eighth. Bahmer had a score of 253.35, while Hanneman came in with a score of 238.50.
The night concluded with the 400-yard medley relay. The team of Meg an Moore, Ker i Hehn, Jul een Rodakowski, and Dan a Baum placed second in the event in a time of 3:49.29. The time is a season best.
"I am very excited about our relays," Coach Jean Freeman commented. "The 400-yard medley team did very well, as did the divers. This is a tough meet, and I am happy with where we are right now."
The Minnesota Invitational will continue tomorrow at the Aquatic Center with prelims beginning at noon and finals starting at 6:00 p.m.
