Minnesota Athletics Celebrates Williams Arena's 75th Anniversary

bThe University of Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletics Department will celebrate the 75th Anniversary of historic Williams Arena during home men's and women's basketball games this season. There will be a celebratory weekend on February 1-2, commemorating the first game played in Williams Arena. The men's team plays Michigan on Feb. 1 and the women's team hosts Northwestern on Feb. 2. The first game in Williams Arena was played on February 13, 1928.

Fans are invited to share their best memory of "The Barn" on www.gophersports.com. The top 10 memories of Williams Arena will be shared during the celebratory weekend. More information regarding ticket specials, special guests and other events will be forthcoming throughout the Golden Gopher basketball season.
