Minnesota Gains 38 Fall Academic All-Big Ten Accolades

meThe Big Ten Conference announced that 38 student-athletes from the University of Minnesota have earned Academic All-Big Ten honors during the fall season. Minnesota sports included in the fall were men's and women's cross country, football, women's soccer and volleyball. The Big Ten also recognized men's soccer and field hockey. To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a career grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better.

Men's cross country had six members eligible, including Josh DoBell, holding a 3.90 in psychology. Laura Bjork and Sarah Hesser led the women's cross country team with 3.94 and a 3.96 respectively, with a total of eight becoming selected. The football team had 11 selected, led by Mark Losli with a 3.93 in information systems. Jen Cressman holds a 3.78 in management, leading six members on the soccer team, while Cassie Busse earned a 3.76 as a member of the volleyball team. There were seven members of the volleyball team that earned Academic All-Big Ten.
