Women Swimmers Beat Illinois, Fall To Wisconsin And Purdue

WisconsiGopher freestyler Dana Baum came away with Minnesota's only individual victory this weekend as the Gophers beat Illinois (199-153) and fell to Wisconsin (198-148) and Purdue (207-145) at the annual Quad Duals this past weekend at West LaFayette, Ind.

Baum won the 200-yard freestyle with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 1:50.05. The junior also placed second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:53.93 and third in the 1000 freestyle (10:11.64).

Junior Kim Bahmer lead the diving charge with second place finishes in both the one-meter (243.85) and three-meter (445.20) diving competitions. Junior Holly Hanneman placed third in the three-meter diving with a score of 431.50, qualifying her for the NCAA Diving Zones in March.

Junior Keri Hehn placed second in the 100 (1:03.79) and 200 (2:17.04) breaststrokes, while senior Karen Egerman finished fourth in the 200 butterfly, swimming a time of 2:06.50.

Up next, the Gophers host the Minnesota Challenge on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 8-9 at the University Aquatic Center.
