b For the sixth time in the past three season, senior Adam Hauser has been named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week for helping Minnesota sweep Wisconsin. Hauser also set three noteworthy records as the Golden Gophers clinched third place in the league.

A 6-2, 195-pounder from Bovey, Minn., Hauser stopped 57 of 63 shots on goal (26 Friday and 31 Saturday) for a .905 saves percentage and held the Badgers to just one power-play goal in nine attempts overall as the 4th-ranked Golden Gophers won 6-3 last Friday and 4-3 (ot) on Saturday.

Hauser's win last Friday (Feb. 22) was the 74th of his collegiate career, pushing him past former Hobey Baker Memorial Award winner Robb Stauber as the school's all-time winningest netminder.

In addition to becoming Minnesota's career leader in victories, Hauser also eclipsed two WCHA goaltending records held by Wisconsin's Graham Melanson on Friday. He marked his 141st collegiate game (Melanson had 140 from 1997-2001) and he also passed Melanson's career minutes played total of 8,179.

Minnesota, now 24-7-4, concludes the 2001-02 regular season on March 1- 2 with a home-and-home set against St. Cloud State.
