Leopold and Pohl Named First Team All-WCHA

theSeniors John Pohl and Jordan Leopold were named first-team All-WCHA at the annual awards ceremony at the Landmark Center in St. Paul, Minn. Leopold was also named WCHA Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.

Also announced at the ceremony were the 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Award. As expected, Leopold was named a finalist for the second consecutive season, but noticeably absent from the list, was Pohl, the nation's second-leading scorer.

Ranked second in the country in goals and fifth in scoring, Jeff Taffe was a third-team All-WCHA selection. Sophomore Paul Martin was selected to the second-team, while freshman Keith Ballard was named to the all-rookie team.

Minnesota next faces St. Cloud State in the semifinal of the WCHA Final Five on Friday night at 7 p.m.
