Women Gymnasts Score Perfect at UCLA

In all, eight perfect 10s were scored during the meet, including five on vault. Norman and Yernberg re-wrote the Gopher record list by each scoring perfect 10's on vault in route to set a season-high 49.6 team score, an all-time record for Minnesota. MaryAnne Kelley's 9.90 also ranks as a perfect score, with a 9.90 start value. The gymnasts placed first in a five way tie with two UCLA gymnasts and one Michigan gymnast. Leigh Dixon and Carrie Hortsch each scored season-highs, Dixon a 9.90 and Hortsch a 9.80.
On bars, no Gopher placed higher than seventh led by Kelley and Mary Skokut who each scored 9.85. Kelley Watson and Megan Beuckens each recorded a 9.775 mark for Minnesota.
Jenny Alf and Kelley finished 10th with 9.80 scores on balance beam. Annie Laatsch and Beuckens each recorded a 9.725.
Kelley finished fifth overall on floor exercise with a 9.90.
Minnesota will host its final home meet of the season on Saturday, March 9 in the Sports Pavilion at 7 p.m.
