Women's Golf Finishes 11th at Big Ten Championship

Minnesota tallied rounds of 314, 311, 334, and 343 for a total of 1,302, 82 strokes from Ohio State's winning total of 1220. The Buckeyes collected their eighth Big Ten title and first since 1999. Purdue was second, 10 strokes out, with a total of 1,230.
Ohio State's Mollie Fankhauser defended her medalist honors, winning a close battle for the title. Fankhauser shot rounds of 75, 68, 83 and 78 for 304, to edge three golfers who tied for second place.
Tai Kinney was the only Gopher to finish among the top 30, tying for 24th place at 319. Kinney shot rounds of 75, 79, 82 and 83.
Other Gopher finishes were Kirstin Whalen, who tied for 44th at 331 (79-78-85-89), Terra Petsinger, who tied for 47th at 331 (79-78-85-89), Karyn Stordahl, who placed 52nd at 333 (80-78-84-91) and Cindy Cannon, who tied for 56th at 336 (85-80-90-81). Karen Quintelier shot rounds of 84, 92 and 93, but does not compile a score since she did not compete in the second round.
