Gopher Rowing Finishes Second Day at the Crew Classic

The Cal Cup boat consisted of coxswain Libby Sharrow, Beth Hornby, Melissa Roche, Erin Streff, Heidi Rose, Jill Peters, Shelley Miller, Amber Riopel and Jackie Gagner. After the first day, the Gophers were in second behind Duke, but fell for the fifth-place finish. Minnesota finished the race with a time of 6:54.32 and a split time of 1:44.43.
Sarah Gleason was the coxswain in the JV boat, followed by rowers Kathryn Frankson, Jessica Nelson, Emily MacCormick, Angela Hedin, Sam Wangsgard, Mariel Gartner, Anna Bartels and Patricia Whitney. The JV team finished with a time of 7:09.12 and a split time of 1:44.79.
The Gophers will take a week off to prepare for the Big Ten Racing, April 20-21, in Iowa, City Iowa.
