Minnesota Swimming & Diving Team Signs Top Prospects

Pahl was runner-up at the Minnesota state meet in the 100-yard and the 200-yard individual medley, while Wiggington placed second in the 100- yard butterfly.
Herriges was the runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle for Ames High School, and Mitchell was the Iowa state champion in the 400-yard freestyle for West Des Moines Dowling. Leopold was the Wisconsin state runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke, while Stensby was the 100-yard butterfly state champion in Nebraska.
Schmidt was a two-time Class AA state diving champion for Stillwater. He was also a finalist in the Junior Olympics at both 1-meter and 3- meter.
The spring signees will join Travis Beckerle of St. Louis, Mo., Kiel Ochalek of Milan, Mich. and Mike Brown of Ontario, Canada who signed letters of intent in the fall.
