University of Minnesota Hosts the Annual Gold Country Run/Walk

The scenic route starts near Dinkytown, curves through campus past historic buildings and ends on the Bierman Field track. Splits are provided at each mile and water is available on the race course. Participants are responsible for reading their own times on the clock at the finish.
The 5k run/walk begins at 9:30 a.m. and the course closes at 10:30 a.m. Each 5k run/walk participant receives a t-shirt and goodie bag, while prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female runners. Race day registration begins at 7 a.m.
Goldy's Gallop for Kids begins at 10:30 a.m. for children from ages four to 12. All participants receive a t-shirt, ribbon and goodie bag.
The Gopher FanFest begins at 9:45 a.m. The festivity includes interactive games, free food and beverages, Gold Country apparel sale and the chance to meet and greet coaches and student athletes of the Men's and Women's Athletics Department.
New to this year's event is the Great Gopher Sports Auction. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and bidding ends at 11:45 a.m. and 12 noon. There will also be a Gopher athletic used equipment sale.
