ComplAmidst cold temperatures, high winds and a steady rain, the University of Minnesota women's track and field team hosted the Minnesota Qualifier on Saturday, May 11 at the Bierman Track and Field Complex.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Shannaine Osbourne, Shani Marks, Amber Day and Tahesia Harrigan ran the second-best time in school history when they sprinted the event in just 45.77 seconds.

Sophomore Amy Netland placed second in the hammer throw with a personal-best toss of 156-feet, 11-inches, the seventh-best throw in Gopher history. Heptathlete Barbora Spotakova finished second in the long jump with a personal-best throw of 17-feet, 3 1/4-inches.

Senior Victoria Moses, in her last home meet as a Gopher, led a Gopher only 3,000-meter race with a season-best time of 10:14.16.

Up next, the Gophers compete at the 2002 Big Ten Championships in Madison, Wisconsin on Friday-Sunday, May 17-19.
