Smith Leads Men's Golf Team to NCAA Championships

Justin Smith's three round score of 210 (-6) tied him for first with Ricky Barnes from Arizona. Smith was the most consistent player for the Golden Gophers, being the only member of the team to not shot a round over par for the tournament. Sophomore David Morgan tied for 34th at 5-over 221. Classmate Simon Nash tied for 51st at 7-over 223, jumping up over 20 places with a final round of even-par 72. Junior Wilhelm Schauman also moved up to tie for 72nd place with an overall score of 226 (+10). Junior Matt Anderson finished 11-over 227 for 82nd place.
The Golden Gopher men's golf team will next compete at the NCAA Championships May 29-June 1 in Columbus, Ohio.
