Anderson Ties Siebert as Minnesota's All-Time Winningest Coach

winningWith the University of Minnesota baseball team's 15-2 win over Purdue this afternoon in West Lafayette, Ind., Head Coach John Anderson tied legendary coach Dick "Chief" Siebert as the all-time winningest coach in the program's 126-year history. Anderson's career record stands at 754-467-3. He will look to own the all-time mark with a win over St. Thomas on Wednesday, May 8, at 6:30 p.m. at Siebert Field.

In his 21st year at Minnesota, Anderson is the Big Ten's all-time winningest coach in league play with a 326-171 record. He is the first coach in conference history to reach 300 Big Ten victories. Anderson, a two-time Big Ten Coach of the Year, is the only coach in the conference to lead his team to four consecutive NCAA postseason appearances.
