Richard Weinberg Selected to Serve on NCAA Competition Committee

University of Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletics faculty representative Richard Weinberg has been named as the Big Ten Conference representative for the NCAA Division I championships and competition cabinet for all men's and women's sports. Weinberg will start his duties Sept. 17 when the committee meets for the first time in Dallas, Texas.

"I look forward to the opportunity," Weinberg said. "I'm excited about playing some role at the national level and representing the Big Ten and the University of Minnesota."

Weinberg, a faculty representative since the 2000-01 season, has been a distinguished teaching professor of child psychology in the institute of child development for 31 years.
