Men's Golf Finishes Fifth at Topy Cup

Junior Simon Nash (Pullanvale, Australia/St. Joseph's) carded the lowest round Thursday for the Gophers with a 3-under-par 69. He finished the event tied for ninth at 212 (-4). Senior Matt Anderson (Edina, Minn./Edina) shot his second consecutive round of 70 (-2) for a total score of 215 to tie for 15th place. Senior Wilhelm Schauman (Djursholm, Sweden/Victor Rydberg) also shot a final round 70 and tied for 28th at 219. Juniors Justin Smith (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) and David Morgan (Rochester, Minn./Robert Lewis Stevenson) tied for 31st and 36th place, respectively.
The Golden Gophers next compete Sept. 28-29 at the Northern Collegiate in Bloomington, Ind.
