Women's Gymnastics Holds Intrasquad Exhibition Meet To Open Season

The University of Minnesota women's gymnastics team held their season-opening intrasquad meet at the Sports Pavilion, posting a 189.575 team score.
The Gophers were led by senior Jenny Alf and junior Mary Skokut. Alf won the all around with score of 38.20, while Skokut took second with a 37.575. Alf also won the beam with a score of 9.625. She took second in the bars and finished tied for first with Skokut in floor exercise with scores of 9.525 and 9.650, respectively. Skokut won the bars with a score of 9.750
Senior Leigh Dixon and sophomore Carolyn Yernberg also contributed to the Gophers' cause as the duo tied for the top place in vault as each posted a 9.70.
The Gophers will face Arizona at the Pavilion on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 7:00 p.m., in their first official meet of the season.
