Gopher Men's Swimming Host Alumni Meet

Minnesota freshman Andrew VanMeter and sophomore Adam Mitchell each won two events at the Golden Gophers' annual Alumni Meet on Friday at the University Aquatic Center. VanMeter captured both the 50 and 100 yard backstroke. Mitchell took first place in the 100 breast in addition to the 100 IM.

Also competing in the individual events were Travis Beckerle in the 200 free, Brian Gettelfinger in the 50 fly, Sean Kelly in the 50 breast and Ales Volcansek in the 25 free.

The Gophers next action is the Intrasquad Meet, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. at the Aquatic Center.
