Gophers Head East to Compete against Brown
The No. 1 University of Minnesota women's hockey team will head to Providence, R.I., to take on Brown, Nov. 15-16. Saturday's game is scheduled for a 1 p.m., start, while Sunday's is slated for an 11 a.m. start (CST).

Gophers on the International Scene
Natalie Darwitz, Kelly Stephens, Lyndsay Wall and Krissy Wendell represented USA Hockey well the past week, all of which played in the Four Nations Cup in Svode, Sweden. The U.S. Select Team won the gold medal, 2-1 over Team Canada in dramatic fashion. Cammi Granato scored the gamewinner in a shootout attempt, helping USA to its first gold-medal win since 1997.

The U.S. Select Team went undefeated in the four-day tournament. They defeated Finland, 8-0 (Nov. 5), shutout Canada 2-0 (Nov. 6) and Sweden, 5-1 (Nov. 8), paving the way to the gold-medal game.

Individually, Wendell led the foursome with two goals and two assists. For her performance, Wendell was named the tournament's most valuable player. Darwitz followed Wendell with two goals, one of which was unassisted, and an assist. Wall had two assists, while Stephens tacked on a single assist.

The All-Time Series
The Golden Gophers and the Bears are at a deadlock all-time series tie at 5-5-1. In the last five meetings between the two schools, Minnesota holds a slight lead at 3-2-0. The Maroon and Gold tacked on a 5-3 win in the last meeting between the two institutions. Minnesota's last loss to Brown came in the 2-1 loss at the 2002 NCAA Frozen Four.
