Gopher Rowing Signs Two During the Early Signing Period

competGopher rowing head coach Wendy Davis has announced that Tina Cho and Lauren Van Proosdy have signed National Letters of Intent. The duo will join the rowing team for the 2004-05 season.

Cho competed with the Lincoln Park junior rowing program in Chicago, Ill., earning four letters. As a member of the Varsity 8 boat, the shell won the Speakmon Regatta, defeating two-time defending national champions, the Cincinnati Rowing Club. In the summer of 2002, Cho was also invited to the Junior National Development Camp.

Van Proosdy, a Madison, Wis., native, is a four-sport athlete in rowing, volleyball, soccer and basketball. Van Proosdy rowed with the Mendota Junior Rowing program this summer and will graduate from James Madison Memorial High School this spring.
