Gopher Women Remain Competitive After Day Two of Invitational

eveniThe Golden Gopher women's swimming and diving team remained competitive Saturday at the University Aquatic Center after earning a thrid place finish at the conclusion of Friday's events.

The evening began strong with a third place finish in the 200 yard Medley Relay. Megan Moore, Melissa Schold, Sarah Bohlsen, and Katy Coombe finished in a time of 1:45:10.

Bohlsen continued to perform well earning a first place finish in the B-Final of the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.40. Valerie Tukey, Lauren Guzauskas, and Jessica Crawford also captured a first place finishes. Tukey, in the B-Final of the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:52:77, Guzaukas in the C-Final of the 100 breaststroke, and Crawford in the C-Final of the 100 backstroke.

Junior Abbie Bowden captured a second place finsih in the 3-Meter diving with a score of 455.60. Senior Rebecca Cornthwaite finished fifth with a score of 448.75.

Look for the conclusion of the Minnesota Invitational beginning tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the University Aquatic Center.
