Men's Golf Signs Patrick Herzog to Letter of Intent

HerzoThe Minnesota men's golf program announced today the signing of Patrick Herzog to a National Letter of Intent. Herzog will be eligible to play for the Golden Gophers for the 2003-04 season.

Herzog, a native of Red Wing, Minn., was a 2002 AJGA All-American Honorable Mention selection and was the 2001 and 2002 Minnesota Golf Association Junior Player of the Year. Last season, Herzog earned all- state honors from the St. Paul Pioneer Press at Red Wing High School and set a tournament scoring record at sections. He was the Missota Conference Player of the Year the past two seasons. In addition, Herzog has lettered six times in golf and four times in basketball. He's earned all-conference honors the past five years for golf and the past two seasons in basketball.

"We are excited to have Patrick join the Golden Gopher golf program," said head coach Brad James. "Patrick has had a very successful junior career on the state and national level and his hard work and determination on the golf course will be a great addition to the team."
