Women's Gymnastics Wins Triangular Meet Against UIC and Illinois

The Gophers got off to a great start as Caro lyn Yernberg won the vault with a 9.900, while Laur a Johnson took second (9.875) and Leig h Dixon took third (9.825). Mary Skokut gave the Gophers their highest finish on bars as she totaled a 9.875 to earn third place.
Jenn y Alf finished fourth on beam with a 9.825 to headline the Gophers in that event. Skokut finished sixth on the beam with a 9.775. The Gophers would have their way in floor exercise as Yernberg captured her second individual title with a 9.95. Alic ia Opsahl would finish second with a 9.875 to help pace the Gophers.
Skokut and Johnson took second and third place with scores of 39.250 and 39.075, respectively, in the all-around competition.
The Gophers will be home next Saturday, Feb. 22, to face Iowa State at the Sports Pavilion at 7 p.m.
