Gopher Rowing Opens Spring Season Against Louisville

Minnesota's Varsity Eight 'A' team of coxswain Katherine Nelson, Beth Hornby, Amber Riopel, Sam Wangsgard, Melissa Roche, Heidi Rose, Jill Peters, Jackie Gagner and Angela Hedin finished first with a time of 6:33.9. Louisville's Varsity Eight finished second at 6:38.3, followed by Minnesota's Varsity Eight 'B' shell at 6:47.3.
The Gophers took the top two spots in novice action as well. The Novice Eight winning boat finished in 7:15.0, followed by Minnesota's novice 'B' team at 7:27.0. The winning boat consisted of coxswain Catie Hill, Jenna Buskohl, Sarah Reed, Janette Gustafson, Rose Christensen, Katie Biese, Meghan Johnson, Natalie Olvera and at bow, Colleen Brown.
The Gophers' next action will be against Tennessee, March 22 in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
