Women's Swimming Finishes Up First Day at NCAA Championships

Minnesota had three swimmers in action on the day. Dana Baum (Carson City, Nev./Carson) highlighted the day for the Golden Gophers by swimming a personal best 23.16 in the 50-yard freestyle, as she finished 33rd in the event.

Juleen Rodakowski (Rochester, Minn./Century) finished 52nd in the 200-Yard Individual Medley with a time of 2:04.53. Rebecca Cornthwaite (Adelaide, South Australia/Valley View) rounded out the day for Minnesota by finishing 29th in the 1-meter springboard diving competition with a score of 239.15.

Host Auburn currently leads the team scoring with a score of 168.5 after the first day of competition.

Minnesota will have three of its four NCAA qualifiers in action on Friday, Mar. 21. Baum will compete in the 200-yard freestyle, while Cornthwaite competes in the 3-meter springboard diving competition. Keri Hehn (Fargo, N.D./Fargo North) will compete in her first event at this year's NCAA Championships when she swims in the 100-yard breaststroke.
