Minnesota and St. Cloud State Skate to 1-1 Tie

St. Cloud State got on top early as Garrett Larson won a foot race to the puck and went in to score on Minnesota's Travis Weber at 13:17 of the first period. The Golden Gophers outshot the Huskies 13-6 in the period but entered the break down by one.
In the second on the power-play, each Golden Gopher touched the puck as Paul Martin fed down low to Matt Koalska who fed it across crease to Troy Riddle who put it away at 5:18. The two teams would enter the third period knotted at one.
Minnesota outshot St. Cloud State 14-5 in the third period, but could not get the game-winner against Jason Montgomery. Montgomery stopped 40 of 41 shots on the night and including his third-period relief stint on Friday, made 54 of 55 shots on the weekend.
Travis Weber stopped 24 of 25 shots in the tie.
The playoffs begin on Friday night at Mariucci Arena as Minnesota hosts ninth-place Michigan Tech. The Golden Gophers were 3-0-1 vs. the Huskies during the season.
