Men's Golf Finishes Third at Fossum/TaylorMade Invitational

Junior Justin Smith (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) posted his third top-10 finish of the season with a tie for fourth place. Smith fired a final round of 2-under 70 for a total of 212 (-4). Senior Matt Anderson (Edina, Minn./Edina) carded a 3-over 75 to tie for eighth place at 214 (-2). Fellow senior Simon Nash (Pullanvale, Australia/St. Joseph's) finished with a round of 73 (+1) to total 222 (+6) and tie for 21st place. Juniors Ben Greve (Annandale, Minn./Annandale) fired his second consecutive round of even-par 72 to tie for 17th place at 4-over 220, while David Morgan (Rochester, Minn./Robert L. Stevenson) totaled 226 (+10) to tie for 36th. Senior Wilhelm Schauman (Djursholm, Sweden/Victor Rydberg) finished 38th with a score of 227 (+11).
The Golden Gophers will next compete May 2-4 at the Big Ten Championships in Bloomington, Ind. Minnesota is looking to defend its conference crown from 2002.
