The Minnesota baseball team moved up one spot to No. 24 in the Collegiate Baseball Top-30 poll for the week of May 5. Minnesota won four of five games last week, including a four-game sweep of Purdue to move to 31-15 overall.

Minnesota moved to 19-3 in Big Ten play, and is five games ahead of second place Ohio State who is 15-9 in conference play. The Golden Gophers swept Purdue at Siebert Field in a four-game series, while Ohio State dropped three of four to Michigan. Minnesota needs any combination of three wins or three Ohio State losses to claim its second straight regular season Big Ten title.

The Golden Gophers have won single games from No. 20 Notre Dame and No. 19 Arizona, while claiming two of three in a series played Mar. 7-9 against No. 6 Cal State Fullerton. Minnesota also received 33 votes in the Sports Weekly/ESPN Top-25 Coaches poll, which unofficially puts them at No. 29.

Minnesota will be back in action when it travels to play Iowa on May 9-11. The Golden Gophers will take on the Hawkeyes Friday, May 9 at 6 p.m., Saturday, May 10 in a doubleheader at 4 p.m. and Sunday, May 11 in a single game at 1 p.m.
