Junior Alean Frawley bettered her own school record in the shot put, highlighting the Golden Gopher women's track & field team's performance at the Minnesota Qualifier on Friday evening. Frawley landed a throw of 53 feet, 5 1/2 inches to win the competition.

The Minnesota Qualifier was a non-scoring meet. Several of Minnesota's top athletes did not compete to rest for next weekend's (May 16-18) Big Ten Championships, hosted by Minnesota.

Frawley was the meet's only double-winner. She also captured the title in the hammer with a throw of 169-5.

Junior Nicole Kopari won the discus and improved her NCAA regional qualifying distance with a person-best mark of 159-0.

Minnesota had two triple jumpers post NCAA regional qualifying marks. Senior Saree Zweifel won the event with a jump of 40-2, edging freshman Kou Luogon's effort of 40-0 3/4. The jumps were personal best for both athletes.
