Simon Nash Named Third Team Verizon Academic All-American

AllUniversity of Minnesota men's golfer Simon Nash (Pullanvale, Australia/St. Joseph's) was named third-team Verizon Academic All-American Tuesday. Nash majored in economics with a 3.63 grade point average. As a two-time PING All-American and All-Big Ten selection, Nash led the Golden Gophers to back-to-back Big Ten Championships this season and Minnesota's first NCAA golf title in 2002. Nash placed in the top 10 in 5 events in the 2003 season, finishing second on the team with a 72.97 stroke average. He shot 22 rounds under 75, firing 12 under par. Nash turned professional following the 2003 NCAA Championships.
