The Bulldogs got on the board first, but the Golden Gophers would prove to be too powerful, as they would score the next six goals on their way to resounding win. UMD rounded out the scoring late in the second half.
In addition to Neary's three markers, Minnesota got goals from sophomores Rebecca Dellaria, Laura Hoppe and Annie Carr, and freshman Kjirsten Sigmund. On top of her hat trick, Neary picked up an assist to tally seven points.
In the nets, sophomore Karli Kopietz allowed one UMD goal in the first half, while junior Marni Prall gave up the final tally in the second stanza. For the game, Minnesota out-shot UMD, 18-6.
