The Minnesota women's cross country team placed 15th among the 37 teams to run in the Pre-NCAA Blue Race, in Terre Haute, Ind., on Saturday. No. 1 Stanford won the team title in the Blue Race with 48 points, while No. 4 Colorado captured the White Race crown with 94 points. The Golden Gophers tallied 470 team points. The event gives teams the opportunity to run on the course that will play host to the NCAA Championships in late November.

Junior Lauren Williams was the Golden Gophers' top finisher for the fourth time this season. Williams covered the 6-kilometer course in a time of 21 minutes, 50.4 seconds, a tenth of a second from etching her name on one of the top 20 6K times in school history, to place 62nd. Her time was a personal best by nearly 31 seconds.

Zoe Nagell was the second Minnesota finisher, placing 71st in a clocking of 21:56.2. Also scoring for the Gophers were Ladia Albertson-Junkans in 96th place with a time of 22:09.8, Jen Hess in 120th with a time of 22:21.0 and Harper McConnell in 121st in 22:21.7.

"This was a good solid day for us," said Minnesota head coach Gary Wilson. "We finished with a good pack, which is going to be our bread and butter this season."

Five Gophers also competed in the Pre-NCAA Open Race with Emily Brown topping the list with an 11th-place finish in a time of 22:11.6.
