Kris Chucko Named to USCHO Preseason All-Rookie Team

A first-round selection by the Calgary Flames at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Chucko spent the last two seasons with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). Last year, he finished second on the team and 13th in the league in scoring with 32-55--87 in 53 regular season games. Chucko, the team captain, helped lead the Silverbacks to first place in the division and a runner-up finish in the BCHL Playoffs.
Chucko and the Golden Gophers open the 2004-05 season on Thursday, Oct. 7, with an exhibition game at Mariucci Arena against the University of Calgary. Minnesota's regular season begins Oct. 9 at the Xcel Energy Center with the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game against defending NCAA champion Denver.
