Conway is a two-time all-state and all-conference shortstop at Hill-Murray High School. A four-year letterwinner, she batted .410 with 15 extra-base hits as a junior last season. Conway is also a four-year letterwinner on the soccer team and a six-year letterwinner on the hockey team. She is a three-time all-conference selection on the ice. Conway is also a member of the National Honor Society.
A four-year letterwinner at Eastview High School, Hassett is the school's all-time leader in strikeouts and no-hitters. In addition to all-state honors, Hassett was a Louisville Slugger/ NFCA High School All-North Region selection last year as a junior. She was a starter on Eastview's 2003 Minnesota State Championship team and will serve as team captain for the 2005 season. Recruited nationally to play two sports, Hassett is also an all-conference basketball player and led Eastview in scoring and rebounding a year ago.
A native of Tuscon, Ariz., Parks is entering her second season at Pima Community College. Last season, Parks was a first-team All-American as she helped lead the Lady Aztecs to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Championship. Parks led the nation with 81 RBI and ranked second with 21 home runs. A first and third baseman, Parks was a two-year letterwinner at Sahuaro High School and was a two-time first-team All-Region selection. She led all players with 10 home runs in her senior season as she earned first-team All-Southern Arizona accolades.
Entering her senior season at Farmington High School in Farmington, N.M., Sanchez was the lone junior on the 2004 Louisville Slugger/NFCA First-Team All-American squad. A first baseman and pitcher, Sanchez was an all-state selection and was named Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of New Mexico. She batted .537 last season as she led her high school to the state championship. Sanchez was also an academic all-district honoree. She comes to Minnesota from the same high school that produced the Golden Gophers' all-time home run leader, Jordanne Nygren, and all-time leader in wins, strikeouts and innings pitched, Piper Marten.
Stemper is a four-year starting catcher at Burnsville High School and was an all-state selection last season as she helped lead the Blaze to a Minnesota State 3A Championship. She is a two-time all-conference honoree and also earned honorable mention honors as a freshman. Stemper is a two-year captain and was named the team's most valuable player last season. She is also a member of the National Honor Society.
