Gopher Divers Compete to Qualify for NCAA Championships

The NCAA Diving Zones began this afternoon at the Counsilman- Billingsley Aquatic Center in Bloomington, Indiana. In today's competition, the men participated in the 3-Meter event.

The Gophers were led by sophomore John Schmidt who earned a score of 476.40. He finished in sixth place. Ben Herdt captured a ninth place finish (443.80), while Shawn Kennedy followed in 11th (442.95).

Iowa's Timo Klami won the event with a score of 576.00.

Competition continues tomorrow for the Gophers beginning at 12 p.m. ET. They will participate in the 1-Meter event, and on Sunday, they will conclude with the platform competition at 11 a.m. ET.
