Minnesota Gains 51 Winter Big Ten All-Academic Accolades

Women's swimming had 21 members eligible, including junior Rebecca Cornthwaite (Adelaide, So. Australia) who was a three-time NCAA qualifier. Adam Mitchell (Des Moines, Iowa), who was an All-American for the men's swimming team, was one 12 swimmers on the men's side to receive the honors. The women's gymnastics team had eight members selected, including Mary Skokut (Carmel, Ind.) who is a four-time Big Ten All-Conference honoree. Guillermo Alvarez (Denver, Colo.), who is a two-time Big Ten All-Conference honoree, was one of two men's gymnasts to received Big Ten All-Academic honors. Two-time All-American Lindsay Whalen (Hutchinson, Minn.) was one of five women's basketball player to claim the honors, while Brent Lawson (Maple Grove, Minn.) one of four men's basketball players to receive the honors.
