Graft to Join Gopher Women's Hockey Next Season

theGopher women's hockey coach Laura Halldorson has announced that Whitney Graft from Wayzata, Minn., has been accepted to the University of Minnesota and plans to join the women's hockey program for the 2003-04 season.

Graft led Wayzata High School to a 21-4-1 overall record and a 11-0-0 conference mark her senior season. A top 10 finalist for the 2004 Ms. Hockey award, Graft scored 14 goals and 25 assists for 39 points. The 5'4" forward led the team with 25 assists and had nine multiple-point games. A three-time all-conference selection in hockey, Graft was a member of the Trojans' two conference championships. Graft is a four-year letterwinner in hockey, softball and tennis. She was a two time all-conference selection in tennis and a four-time all-conference honoree in softball.

"Whitney is a very determined, hardworking player," Halldorson said. "She is also a tremendous student and will fit in well at the University of Minnesota."
