Smith, La'Cassie Named All-Region by Golf Coaches Association

BUniversity of Minnesota men's golfers Justin Smith and Bronson La'Cassie were named to the PING All-Region team by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Nine region teams are comprised of 15 golfers each, Smith and La'Cassie were named to the All-Midwest Region Team. Smith, a senior from Moon Township, Pa., earned the recognition as well last season. He led the Gophers with a 72.25 stroke average and recorded seven top 10 finishes including two tournament wins this past season. La'Cassie, a freshman from Brisbane, Australia, was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2004 and had six top 10 finishes.
