Morgan Named All-America Scholar by Golf Coaches Association

University of Minnesota senior men's golfer David Morgan has been named a 2004 Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America. To be eligible for All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically and competed in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70 percent of his teams competitive rounds, have a stroke average below 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and in good standing at his university.

Morgan finished third on the team with a 74.09 stroke average, was named second team All-Big Ten, finished fifth at the Big Ten Championships and was named to the all-tournament team. He graduated in May with a 3.49 grade point average and earned degrees in finance and political science.
