LaCassie Defeated in Second Round of U.S. Amateur

AmateUniversity of Minnesota men's golfer Bronson La'Cassie lost in the second round of match play today at the United States Amateur at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y.

La'Cassie was defeated by Nicholas Thompson of the United States 3 and 2 this morning. The sophomore from Brisbane, Australia was 1 up through 12 holes, but lost the next four holes. Thompson advances to play Jeff Overton of Indiana University this afternoon.

La'Cassie's run to the round of 32 was the farthest a Golden Gopher had advanced at the U.S. Amateur since Simon Nash qualified for the round of 32 in 2001.
