NORMAN, Okla. - University of Minnesota men's golfer Chun-Ta Wu was named to the NCAA Division I PING All-Region Team, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Saturday. In total, 150 players across six regions and 81 schools earned all-region honors for 2025-26.

An All-B1G Second Team selection, Wu closed his sophomore season with a team-leading 71.87 scoring average. He claimed the first tournament title of his collegiate career when he was the medalist at The Johnnie-O in addition to claiming three top-10 finishes during the year, including a ninth-place effort at the 2026 Big Ten Conference Championships in early May.

"Chun-Ta has the talent and determination that allows him to play at an elite level," Minnesota head coach Justin Smith said. "He finished in the top 25 seven times, where six of those came in the spring for us and was highlighted by his win at Sea Island. This is just the start for Chun-Ta. I am really excited about his development and the consistent improvements he made this year."

Hailing from Manly Vale, New South Wales, Australia, Wu matched a career-low round of 8-under par 64 in the opening round of his tournament victory. He carded a total of 14 rounds under par this season with the Maroon and Gold and paced the team at six of the 12 events.

Wu is the first golfer from the Golden Gophers' program to be recognized on an all-region team since Ben Warian in 2024. It also marks the 17th year over the past 24 where a Minnesota golfer has earned all-region honors.
