Luther College Wins Women's Maroon III Race

Luther College defended its women's maroon III title today in the Roy Griak Invitational located at the Les Bolstad Golf Course. The Nors finished with 63 points and were followed by Carleton College with 74 points.

Wisconsin Platteville's junior Jackie Mulrooney defended her individual title, covering 6-Kilometer course with a time of 22 minutes and 20.7 seconds. St. Benedict junior Leah Wurm placed second with a time of 22:27.1.

"Winning the Griak was more rewarding this year because of the great competition," said Mulrooney. "I feel very confident for the rest of the season."

Luther placed five runners in the top twenty lead by Bethany Schiefelbein placing 5th with a time of 23:17, Emily Lynch placing 8th with a time of 23:32, Natile Retrum placing 13th with a time of 23:56, Erin Dunham placing 18th with a time of 24:15 and Krista Nelson placing 19th with a time of 24:18.
