WHK: Darwitz and McKenzie Earn WCHA Weekly Honors

Darwitz, a native of Eagan, Minn., totaled eight points on three goals and five assists in the Golden Gophers' series sweep of Brown last weekend. In the 8- 2 win Friday, Darwitz had two goals and three assists. With her third assist, Darwitz broke the school record for career assists in just her 80th career game. She followed her five point performance with a goal and two assists in Minnesota's 5-0 win Saturday. Her goal came on one of her just two attempts.
McKenzie hailing from Hastings, Minn., scored two goals and added an assist in the Gophers' sweep of Brown. She gad a goal in the 8-2 win Friday and then added two points Saturday's 5- 0 victory. McKenzie assisted on the game-winning goal and tallied her second power play goal of the season.
The No. 1 Golden Gophers travel to Columbus, Ohio to take on WCHA rival Ohio State, Jan. 21-22. Both games are slated for a 7:05 p.m. start (EST) at the OSU Ice Rink. Minnesota's next home competition is Jan. 29-30 when the Gophers host No. 4 Wisconsin at Ridder Arena. Both games are slated for a 2:05 p.m. start.
