WHK: Block Joins Gophers in the 2005-06 Season

thGopher women's hockey coach Laura Halldorson has announced that Lindsay Block from Chaska, Minn., has been accepted to the University of Minnesota and plans to join the women's hockey program for the 2005-06 season.

Block, a member of Chaska High School, has posted over 22 goals and 13 assists for 35 points in her senior season. As a sophomore, she led Chaska to a conference title in 2003. An All-Lake Conference selection in 2002, 2003 and 2004, Block was also an all-state selection in 2003 and 2004. As a junior, Block tallied 29 goals and 21 assists for 50 points. Along with being a four-year letterwinner in hockey, she also earned two letters in both softball and cross country. Block, the daughter of Jule and Lisa Block, competed in the USA Hockey's National Development Camp in 2002.

"Lindsay Block is a smart, hard-working player who has always dreamed of becoming a Gopher," Halldorson said. "We're very excited to add her to our program."
