The Western Collegiate Hockey Association has announced that freshman forward Erica McKenzie has been named the WCHA Rookie of the Week for her performance against Wisconsin this past weekend. It is her third honor of the year and second in two weeks.

McKenzie, a freshman forward from Hastings, Minn., had two points in the Golden Gophers' series sweep of Wisconsin, January 29 and 30. In the 4-1 win Saturday, McKenzie scored an insurance goal, giving the Gophers a 3-1 third period lead. Sunday, she added an assist on the game-winning, power- play tally. The Sunday game marked the sixth time in seven games that she scored a point.

The No. 1 Golden Gophers travel to St. Cloud State, Feb. 4-5. Both games are scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. start at the National Hockey Center. Minnesota's next home action is Feb. 12-13 against North Dakota. Both games are slated for a 2:05 p.m. start at Ridder Arena.
