THIS TIME LAST YEAR
The Golden Gophers entered the 2003-04 second semester with a 13-0-1 record. Minnesota's undefeated streak quickly came to a close as the Gophers fell to Minnesota-Duluth, 4-1 on Jan. 9. The Gophers quickly rebounded to a 4-3 overtime victory the following night to split the series. With the split against UMD, Minnesota maintained its No. 1 ranking for the 12th- consecutive week. The Gophers' win however, came at a price when Natalie Darwitz suffered an elbow injury that sidelined her for 10 games.
