SB: Golden Gophers Sweep Doubleheader at Wisconsin-Superior

deThe Golden Gopher softball team hit five home runs in a doubleheader sweep against Wisconsin-Superior on Sunday afternoon. Minnesota claimed the first game with a 9-0 win in five innings and then defeated Superior, 7-2, in the nightcap.
In the first game, junior Megan Higginbotham hit a pair of home runs in the 9-0 rout. Higginbotham connected in the first and fifth innings. Sophomore Tawnie Safgren and junior Lisa Parks also added home runs in the contests. Junior Mandy Valadez earned the complete-game shutout.
In the second game, sophomore Megan Arns homered, while junior Rene Konderik earned the victory on the mound.
