VB: Minnesota Remains at No. 9 in /CSTV/AVCA Poll

Minnesota has now been ranked in the top 10 in the last 24 polls dating back to the final 2003 poll. The Golden Gophers have also been ranked in the top 25 for 32 straight weeks, which is the second-longest span in school history.
There were five Big Ten teams ranked in the top 25 this week. Penn State was the highest ranked team at No. 4, followed by No. 8 Wisconsin, Minnesota at No. 9, Ohio State at No. 19 and Purdue at No. 21.
Minnesota swept a pair of three-game matches from Iowa on Oct. 5 and at Indiana on Oct. 7. With the victories, the Golden Gophers are currently tied for second place in the Big Ten at 5-1. Since dropping their first conference match against Wisconsin on Sept. 23, the Golden Gophers have won five straight Big Ten matches.
The Golden Gophers will head to Purdue to take on the Boilermakers on Friday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. Minnesota will also travel to Illinois on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. That match will be broadcast on ESPN 2 on tape-delayed basis on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1:30 p.m.
